What does certified cotton mean?

Before Organic cotton is planted the ground has to be prepared.  The soil has to be built up to grow organic cotton.  There are ways to do this without using chemicals and fertilizers.  By doing this procedure it makes the product cost more.  The seed has to be certified by federal standards.  The farmer has to be certified and is inspected several times during the growing season by federal inspectors.  The cotton gin has to be certified and like the farmer is inspected.  This is done to insure the customer that the product you are buying is indeed organic cotton.

So you can see you have to pay more to receive these clothes.  We cut costs everywhere we can.  We give a 5 per cent discount on all purchases if you give us your baby's first name.

The second reason is our landfills are stating that the disposible diaper is not deteriorating therefore, creating a problem for later generations.  This is a another reason for organic diapers.

Most of the products, are produced in Egypt, India, and Japan.

Here the cotton is hand picked. 

The world farmer has to pass regulations too.  Before you can grow cotton you have to join Demeter which is a International Bio-Dynamics Certification Board that has high standards.

Why do we have to buy Organic Clothes overseas?

We grow organic cotton here in the United States but it is only a small percentage of the total production. World wide it is only 3 per cent of the total production of cotton.

Genetically Modified Organism {GMO} cotton now accounts for 75% of the conventional crop grown in the U.S.  Conventionally grown cotton ranks #3 in crops with the heaviest pesticide use in the world.  Five of the top nine pesticides used on cotton are cancer-causing chemicals.
